Soria Natural is a Spanish family business that has specialised in phytotherapy and natural health products since 1982.
What began as a passion for medicinal plants has grown into a specialised laboratory where traditional plant knowledge is combined with research, modern production techniques and extensive quality control.
From its main site in Garray, in the Spanish province of Soria, Soria Natural today develops and produces a wide range of products based on medicinal plants and other natural ingredients.
A significant share of the plants is grown in its own fields around the production site. This allows Soria Natural to oversee much of the process itself: from the cultivation and selection of the plant to extraction, production and the testing of the finished product.
Plant knowledge as a foundation
Soria Natural has its roots in the medicinal plant. After more than 40 years, that is still the foundation of the company.
By bringing together its own cultivation, years of experience, research and modern production techniques, Soria Natural aims to turn plants into user-friendly products in the most high-quality and controlled way possible.
The result is a broad range in which traditional phytotherapy and contemporary science come together.
From plant to finished product
A good plant extract starts with a good raw material.
That is why Soria Natural grows a significant share of its medicinal plants itself, in its own fields around Garray. This means attention can already be paid to the quality of the plant and the right moment of harvest during cultivation.
Plants that cannot be grown locally because of their origin or growing conditions are purchased from carefully selected suppliers.
After harvesting, the plants are further processed at the company's own production site. By keeping cultivation, processing and production in its own hands as much as possible, Soria Natural has control over the entire chain.
Research and innovation
Traditional plant knowledge forms the foundation of Soria Natural, but it is constantly complemented by scientific research.
At its site in Garray, Soria Natural has its own centre for Research, Development & Innovation. Scientists and technical staff study medicinal plants, active substances and new extraction and production techniques there.
Among other things, they look at the composition of plants, the extraction of their active constituents and ways to improve their absorption and bioavailability.
To this end, Soria Natural also works with universities, hospitals and other scientific institutions.
In this way, traditional phytotherapy is continually developed further with the help of modern science and technology.
Quality at every step
At Soria Natural, quality control runs through the entire production process.
Raw materials are tested and analysed in the company's own quality laboratory before use. Various checks are also carried out during production, and the finished products undergo microbiological, physicochemical and organoleptic analyses, among others.
A product is only released once it meets the predefined specifications.
This way of working is supported by various quality systems and certifications, including ISO 9001 for quality management and ISO 14001 for environmental management.
